History

Elettromedia has its roots in a geographical area strongly committed to music: in the Marche region for two centuries popular and all-over-the-world appreciated musical instruments have been produced, first by highly handicraft, afterwards by cutting-edge electronic industries. An exceptionally stimulating, full of resources habitat, for a reality made of music, tradition and electronics.

There is where everything starts, in 1979, when a group of technicians, coming from different electronics fields and sharing a passion for high-fidelity sound, gathers around a dream called Audison.

1984

After a few years of studying and experimenting, in 1984, with the construction of the first amplifier, HP 110, Audison has been born, its name coming from the fusion of the latin words audio and sonus.

With HP 111, input sensitivity continuous adjustment is introduced in car amplifier application.

1987

Elettromedia is officially founded.
The Audison Cable series, the first high-quality cable and connection accessories manufactured in Europe, is introduced.

1988

The industrial production of the new SR line is launched, remaining in the market until 1994; the SR amplifiers took hi-fi sound to the Italians’ cars.

1990

With LR 3040, special clamps to fix power transistors onto the heat sink are first employed, merging higher reliability with record-fast assembling.

That same year the corporate headquarters are moved from the historical centre of the medieval town of Potenza Picena to an industrial building, more suitable to meet the needs for constant growth of the company’s activities.

1992

Elettromedia takes part for the first time in international fairs, CES in Las Vegas and SIM in Milan, presenting to the public its HR100. This amplifier immediately becomes the new absolute benchmark for hi-end amplification and it world-wide opinion leaders name it “The Amplifier”.

VR and LR lines are launched in the market in the same year. LR 3081 Sub is the first mono amplifier in the world specifically designed to drive subwoofers.

1994

A.B.S., Audison Balanced System, is introduced, with its pin-RCA compatible balanced connection, to solve the “noise” issues typical of the modern car circuits. At SIM in Milan the progenitor of Thesis line debuts: it is the HV Sedici, the first amplifier provided with A.B.S. connections.

In addition to that, the third IT process, via an integrated management software with data organized on a data base, as well as the first production planning based on MPRII system (Master Planning Resource) are started up in the company.

1995

A big project, the craziest bet in the world: Audison creates HV Trenta, amplifier featuring bi-polar transistor output stage, and HRV Trenta, amplifier with same basic circuitry as the one of HV Trenta, but with Mosfet transistor output stage. The bet about which transistor, Mosfet or bi-polar, provides better sound has started. Some among the most renowned car audio experts in the world coming from Japan, Germany and Italy meet up in the seventh-century theater in Potenza Picena to be part of the exclusive listening group.

1997

LR 605 XR is the best selling amplifier: in just one year over twenty thousand units are sold.

1998

With the introduction of the Hertz brand, Elettromedia gives voice to amplifiers, becoming protagonist in the speaker field.

For the first time, high-efficiency speakers for in-car application are designed and built, offering everyone the opportunity to enjoy quality music at high dynamics also with low power systems.

That same year see the birth of AZaudiocomp brand (A to Z audio components), a complete product line dedicated to professional installers.

VRx2400_History

Audison introduces the Audison VRx audio system featuring the “Open Deck” concept. This Audison technology ensures every installer maximum freedom, to best express their own idea about car audio systems, and every enthusiast the possibility to achieve progress in their own listening experiences.

2001

The company’s move to the new location is completed, designed to meet the enlarged technical, logistic and commercial needs.

2002

Within shortly Hertz produces significant innovations in the loudspeaker design technology, such as the double-wave progressive development surround or the Neodymium motor in the Space series, awarded in 2002/2003 as EISA loudspeaker of the year.

2004

The Audison first-place role is confirmed with the introduction of the Thesis HV venti, that in few months wins the 2004/2005 EISA Award and Innovations Award at 2005 CES in Las Vegas.

As evolution of the Audison Cable line, Elettromedia launches the Audison Connection program: a top-quality, futuristic design product range, introduced to the market with an array of promotional and sales support tools, making it a marketing benchmark in the launch of new products.

2006

Hertz introduces its first amplifier line, Hi-Power, to satisfy its many fans asking for electronics to build full Hertz audio systems.

2007

Elettromedia celebrates 20 years of activity. A path marked by a dizzying growth that the founding members decide to celebrate with those who made all of this possible: in the charming facilities of the Headquarters an Open Day is held. On that occasion, the Grand Opening of the Elettromedia Design Center, “La Fabbrica delle idee” , takes place.

ML2500 EISA history

The first products created by this project, Elettromedia’s creative soul, are the subwoofers from the Hertz Mille line that immediately receive two international Awards: the 2007 Innovations Award and the 2007-2008 EISA Award. Once again from the outside comes the confirmation that innovation, understood as a culture for creativity, is a key strategic asset for Elettromedia.

2008

Audison debuts into the speakers’ world, according to the Thesis prestigious tradition: further to an accurate design, the new speakers are added to the hi-end line, along with the new amplifiers, supreme concentration of analogue and digital technology.

Meanwhile, the Hertz brand steps into the SPL (Sound Pressure Level) competitions with SPL Monster, a subwoofer and amplifier line, designed to reach record powers.

2009

A new Audison product is destined to change the perception of car audio systems: bit One is a multifunction digital processor, able to interface with any digital and analogue source, to turn any system into a high performance system.

2010

The Audison R&D team wins one more challenge: to make the Thesis sound quality accessible to a wider, yet not less demanding, audience, they build the Voce speakers.

2011

Elettromedia adds amplifiers to the Voce speakers ; for the first time, three products from the same product line and for three years in a row are awarded the prestigious EISA award.

Audison Full DA technology opens the door to a new era of mobile audio reproduction. This breakthrough provides pure digital signal transfer from the source, through the processor into the amplifiers; the digital to analog conversion occurring just once, at the first stage of the amplifier. Thanks to Audison, it is possible to enjoy an audio system free from the limitations and signal alterations of a traditional analog system.
